THE CHARCOT FOOT

This is a charcot foot of about 3 years. The other foot (below) has not developed into a Charcot foot.
Normal foot with no evidence of Charcot. The goal at this point is to monitor this foot closely to prevent it from advancing into Charcot as the other foot has done (above) . 
Same patient as above the left foot is still noninvolved.
Presently treating the patient with athletic shoes with accomodative plastaroli insoles to accommodate the left arch and foot.
